Hi Sweeties!
How are you? :) I hope you've been enjoying these first few
days of May. It's such fun watching as things begin to pop up in the garden. All
those familiar, flowery faces, back for another visit, just like favorite old
friends!
While I was taking pictures of the pins I just finished stitching up,
I began to think they sort of looked like decorated sugar cookies...so that's
what I'm calling them; "Sugar Cookie Pins"! ;)
They're right at home next to the cupcake pins! :)
With all of this "baking" taking place on my sewing table, I
got myself in the mood to make a real sweet treat. I remembered a recipe I found online awhile back.
These "Old Fashioned Cupcakes" are the
best cupcakes I've ever made!
Before I could fret over not knowing how to make those pretty icing roses, like the ones in the photo on the recipe page ... and before I could even give just adding a few sprinkles a second thought, the cupcakes started to quickly disappear off the counter top. They didn't last the day. If you have a bit of time, try these!
Here's the recipe. (click to enlarge)
While I'm on the subject of baking, or cooking anything for that matter, here's a wonderful blog you should pop by:
Everything this gal cooks up looks so incredibly delicious! Your mouth will instantly start to water!

Don't you just love when you open the mailbox and find a treasure waiting inside?
The other day I received this beautiful ATC (artist trading card) from my sweet friend, Sherry. :)
ATC's are little works of art, usually the size of a regular playing card.
I'm lucky enough to have a few of Sherry's lovely cards, and I keep them clipped onto a memento board I have above my work desk where I can admire them all the time. Thank you so, so much Sherry! xo
You can visit Sherry and see all of her very special creative doings, here at her blog Createology.
Have a fun week! Be creative! Learn something new!
This week, I'm promising myself to learn how to make icing roses, so the next time I make cupcakes they'll be really pretty! :)
Find time to do a bit of what you love...and what makes your heart happy!
See you soon!
xo

ReplyDeleteAnother delightful post filled with your beautiful makes, Sweet Paulette - I am always in awe of your gorgeous pins and your nimble fingers, AND your patience in creating these little beauties - AMAZING! Your cup cakes look very tempting, and obviously WERE - all cleaned up in no time; all the best with making the icing roses, they won't be a problem for you! Your card gift from your friend is very sweet but I couldn't open the pic directly above that one - it just has a question mark on it, sadly! I am so amused by this little fellow waving at me - just imagine I'm waving right back, and have yourself a wonderful week dear friend!

My cookies are not as intricate, but some people make ones like that! So glad to meet you here. I also have an Etsy shop. I hope to see more of your pins in your shop!
