Hello Sweet Friends!
I'm sooo happy to have a little time this morning for a quickie post. It's been a very busy past few months!
I hope you all enjoyed a very happy Thanksgiving. :) Like most, I'm still stuffed from all the eating I did yesterday, but everything was so yummy, and I think all thoughts about your waistline should be completely banned on Thanksgiving anyway. Don't you? ;D
I was running a last minute errand yesterday morning when I spotted a plastic cup rocking back and forth on the side of the road. A fluffy tail was sticking out of one end of the cup, so I pulled over for a closer look.
I love animals and I never pass by a critter that seems to need some help. Well ... this little squirrel had gotten himself stuck inside a clear plastic cup. The type fast food places use for soft ice cream. You know, the ones that have a domed lid with a little hole on top for a straw or spoon. I have no idea how he got himself in there, but he was wedged in so far down that his nose was pressed against the bottom of the cup and only his little legs and tail were sticking out of the hole in lid. It was so tight around his belly that he couldn't get back out. I always have a pair of scissors in the back of my truck, so I picked up the squirrel filled cup (and oh gosh was he ever screaming inside there!) and I was able to very carefully slide the scissors up between the lid and his back and snip away till the dome was completely cut and he dropped free.
He jumped away looking perfectly fine, thank goodness. Along with so much more this year, I was very thankful for that!

Here are a few pins I've completed since my last post. I just finished this snowflake last night.
Some gingerbread birdhouses...
Some Christmas mittens and a little bundled up birdie.
Well, Sweeties, that's it for now. I may do a little holiday shopping today, or head to the beach for nice quiet walk.
I hope whatever you have planned for this weekend includes something fun!
See you soon!
xo

I love how you helped the squirrel. That was very nice of you. I love your snowflake, bird houses, mittens and bird. They all turned out so nice. Hope you enjoyed your walk along the beach. We just had to shovel snow from our driveway. Yes, a workout; but not nearly as nice as I can imagine a walk along the beach!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ornaments :) Just love them all♥
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely delightful brooches, I wish I had your skills! Bless, I'm so glad you freed the squirrel. I saved a bumble bee once, by feeding it sugar water on a leaf when it got trapped in my conservatory.! Just imagine if everyone saved just one animal of any size! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family. I love your blog. X

When I started to read the post I was thinking we were in for a Squirrel Soup recipe....glad that was not the case! I am happy you had the nerve to free the poor trapper critter...I am not sure I would have been able to do it! You win the prize for most prepared crafter, having scissors in your truck...come to think of it I do too! You can take a girl out of her craft room, but she always has supplies stashed elsewhere!
